The Westbrook American reported in its issue of Jan. 17, 1962, that the Gorham branch of the American Field Service, which sponsors foreign exchange students, elected officers. They were Horton Gilman, president; John Flight, vice president; Charles Delano, treasurer; Mrs. Leon Sanborn, secretary; and Mrs. Raymond Phinney, librarian; Gerald Knight, funds chairman; Donald Gallagher, chairman of students abroad; Dr. Clifford Gates, school liaison chairman; and Flight, home placement chairman. Delano was principal of Gorham High School.
