A 20-year-old Gorham man faced arraignment Wednesday following an arrest late Saturday after allegedly threatening people with a handgun.
Chief Ron Shepard said Paul Rogers II was arrested at 10:16 p.m., at his home on Mosher Road on charges of reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon, terrorizing with a dangerous weapon and criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon.
Officers Mike Coffin and Dean Hannon made the arrest. Police also recovered a gun. Rogers was taken to Cumberland County Jail in Portland. Shepard said Rogers was still there Tuesday and faced arraignment Wednesday.
Shepard said police received a call at 9:20 p.m. about a threatening incident on Acorn Street, which links Mosher and Gray roads. Police secured the area but the suspect had left when police arrived. Police learned Rogers’ identity and went to his house, where he was taken into custody.
“He came out on his own,” Shepard said.
Windham police and the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department also responded to the incident.
