Matthew Phinney, 4, shows off his first place prize and his frog, Legz, after winning the frog-jumping contest at the St. Anne’s Summer Festival Saturday.

He is the son of Mike and Kim Phinney of Gorham. Mike Phinney is a Gorham town councilor.

Matthew was confident that Legz would out jump the competition, which was held on a table on the lawn at the Gorham Public Safety Building on Main Street.

“I thought I would win,” he said.

See the Aug. 2 issue of the American Journal for many more pictures and highlights of the summer festival.
