Southern Maine Agency on Aging (SMAA) announces its 3 day Senior Medicare Patrol training session to become a Medicare Advocate. The training sessions are scheduled for August 14, 21 and 28, 2007 at SMAA’s Scarborough office. At these sessions volunteers learn about Medicare and associated insurances to help seniors work through important Medicare insurance choices as they turn 65. Medicare advocates also help educate about Medicare and insurance fraud. The training runs from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. each of the three days. If you are interested in providing a very meaningful volunteer service to older people and their families, please call Carol Rancourt at 396-6547 or e-mail at [email protected] to sign up for the training.
