Youth programs planned

Chris Barstow, director of Buxton Recreation Department, has announced a fall foliage trip and a slate of fall programs for youths.

A three-day bus trip to Quebec City to view the foliage will leave Buxton town hall at 7 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 6, and return at 7 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 8.

The trip includes staying Saturday night in the Holiday Inn in Quebec City. Cost for the trip is $250 per person, based on double occupancy; $400 per person, single occupancy; or $225 per person, triple occupancy.

Saturday, Sept. 22, is the deadline for registering

Information about the trip in addition to youth soccer and basketball along with after school programs is available at the department Web site, www.buxtonrecreation.com

Plant sale fundraiser

A two-day perennial sale 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, Sept 15 and 16, in the parking lot at Bonny Eagle Middle School will benefit Project Graduation.

All plants are $1-$5. The sale will include seven raffles (blue Hydrangea, red rose bush, large Autumn Joy sedum, five bags of shellfish compost, $5 gift card to Longhorn Horse & Pet Supply, purple martin house, two Adirondack chairs and bird feeders, seed and nectar).
