One of the busiest roads in Westbrook will be feeling a bit of a squeeze as Main Street is narrowed to one lane in two areas for tree removal.
Thursday, a crane will be working at 468 Main St., near Rite Aid, to remove a tree.
Friday, a crane will be at 326 Main St., near Tom and Jerry’s Car Wash, to do the same.
The road at both locations will be reduced to one lane. The work is scheduled to begin immediately after the morning commute each day, with the goal to be finished by evening. There will be traffic delays.
Trees were also cut down on Park Road on Wednesday. The trees are in poor health and are hazardous, according to Tom Eldridge, director of public services.
