A 44-year-old Buxton man died shortly after midnight Saturday in a single-vehicle crash on Narragansett Street (Route 202) in Gorham.

Sgt. Daniel Young reported that John J. Decesaro was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger, Patrick I. Gomes, 29, Limington, was rushed to Maine Medical Center, police said.

Young said Decesaro lost control of a Chevy S10 pickup, which left the road, struck a tree, rolled over and hit a utility pole.

Gorham police continue to investigate cause of the accident, but believe speed and alcohol were factors.
