The South Portland Red Riots dropped to 1-2 on the young season after losing to Gorham 3-1 at home on Friday.

South Portland took an initial first half lead on a Nick Link goal, which proved to be the only scoring of the half.

In the second half, the Rams came back, thanks to Joel Mundy. Mundy scored two of the Rams’ second half goals to put Gorham up for good. Chris Esposito got an insurance goal with just under 14 minutes left.

The Riots were scheduled to take on Deering on Tuesday, a game that was threatened by heavy rain. On Saturday, the Riots host the Westbrook Blue Blazes at noon.
