‘Cinderella’ benefit
A local presentation of “Cinderella,” performed by Tanglewood Marionettes, on Thursday, Feb. 21, in the auditorium at Gorham Middle School, will benefit Gorham Cooperative Preschool.
The performance, held during school vacation week, will have an opening act with the New York Times bestselling children’s book author-illustrator, Kevin Hawkes.
The doors to the middle school will open at 9 a.m. Breakfast, arts and crafts, raffle and a book sale and signing by Hawkes will take place from 9-10:30 a.m. Doors to the auditorium will open for seating at 10:15 a.m. with the performance beginning at 10:45 a.m.
The puppeteer, Peter Schaefer, will have a short demonstration about the puppets before the show, which ends at approximately noon. Lunch will be available and raffle winners will be announced.

See the Sox
Gorham Recreation Department is planning trips to see the Boston Red Sox play and has tickets available for three games.
Tickets and transportation and are $72.50 per person with a limit of eight tickets per person. A $40-non refundable deposit is required with the balance due 30 days before the trip. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Tickets are available for the following games:
Sunday, May 18, Milwaukee Brewers, game time 1:35 p.m.; Sunday, June 8, Seattle Mariners, 1:35 p.m.; Saturday, June 21, St. Louis Cardinals, 3:55 p.m.

Lord on dean’s list
Adam Lord has been named to the dean’s list for the fall semester at Georgia Institute of Technology. Lord is a 2005 graduate of Gorham High School.
