No one was injured in a Monday afternoon fire in Windham near the rotary at routes 202 and 302 that destroyed a house and three cars parked in the yard.

The blaze broke out just after 2 p.m. at the home at 584 Gray Road. The house was estimated to be 100 years old,

The fire at was fought by firefighters from the Windham, Gray, Gorham and Westbrook fire departments.

“I looked out the window and the roof was all black smoke and then the fire came through,” said neighbor Wallace Wyman. Wyman now lives next door but lived in the house that burned from 1945 to 1962.

Neighbors said no one was at home during the fire. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Fire destroyed this home in Windham, reported to be a century old, Monday afternoon. No one was home when the blaze broke out.
