Wescott, Toppi engaged

Alan and Denise Toppi and Wayne and Diane Wescott have announced the engagement of their children Benjamin Toppi and Rachel Wescott.

Both are graduates of Westbrook High School. Toppi graduated from the Nashville Auto Diesel College in 2003. Wescott graduated from the University of Southern Maine in 2007.

The wedding is planned for Sept. 27 in Saint Joseph’s Church in Portland.

Seniors road trip

Westbrook Senior Citizens are traveling on Sunday, April 13, to see “Don’t Dress for Dinner” at the Amesbury Playhouse in Amesbury, Mass.

Gospel group breakfast

The local chapter of the Full Gospel Businessmen’s Fellowship International will meet for breakfast at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 12, in the American Legion Hall, 17 Dunn St.

Ray Siebring, a former flight instructor, will speak. Siebring has been a missionary pilot serving in Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Join cleanup

Westbrook churches are planning a community cleanup the morning of Saturday, May 10, with volunteers gathering at Riverbank Park.

This year’s second annual cleanup is part of “Join Hands Day,” a national day of volunteering. Last year, more than 100 in Westbrook turned out.

Churches participating include Prides Corner Congregational, Trinity Lutheran, Westbrook-Warren Congregational and Vineyard along with Westbrook High School Key Club. Tom Eldridge, director of public services, and his staff are supporting the cleanup.
