Big check for Congin
Congin topped other Westbrook schools in the Hannaford Helps Schools program.
On Tuesday, John Parvin, manager in Hannaford’s Westbrook store, gave Congin Principal Peter Lancia a check for $1,000, with the fourth-graders assembled for the presentation. Hannaford and vendors partnered in the help program, in which customers placed coupons in boxes for the various schools at the store.
The coupons generated $762 in revenue for Congin and Hannaford awarded the additional $1,000.
“We’ll use it for technical equipment like a new digital video camera and an on-line reading program,” Lancia said.
Parvin said all five Westbrook schools participated.
