Dr. H. Draper Hunt, professor emeritus of history at the University of Southern Maine, will give a lecture entitled, “Benjamin Franklin: Patriot, Diplomat and Founding Father: 1775-1790,” at the Abromson Center on the Portland campus, Tuesday from 9:30-11:30 a.m..

Franklin, who helped draft the Declaration of Independence, created a sensation at the Court of Louis XVI as the American ambassador to France, and served as the oldest member of the 1787 Constitutional Convention.
