Riding to the Top Therapeutic Riding Center in Windham received a boost for its services recently as Norway Savings Bank donated $10,000 to support of the equine assisted activities and therapeutic riding program at the center.

Riding To The Top provides therapeutic riding services to children and adults who have physical, cognitive and/or emotional disabilities and has served hundreds of people in the Portland area for the last 15 years. Riders physically benefit from the rhythmic motion of riding horses, mentally from the concentration and planning involved in lessons, and emotionally from having a relationship with the horses.

The organization operates locations at its farm in Windham and a satellite program at the Pineland Farms Equestrian Center in New Gloucester.

“Riding to the Top is such an important program that makes a huge impact in the lives of many children and adults throughout our community,” said Bob Harmon, president and corporate executive officer of Norway Savings Bank. “We are very pleased to support such a worthwhile organization this year.”
