With the cost of nearly everything on the rise, Walker Memorial is trying to give its patrons a way to make their money go further.

Through the generosity of The Friends of the Walker Memorial Library, Disability RMS, and Rowe Ford, the library is offering passes for free or reduced admission to local musuems for anyone with a Walker Memorial Library card.

The participating museums are Portland Museum of Art, Maine Wildlife Park in Gray, Children’s Museum of Maine in Portland and 19th Century Willowbrook Village in Newfield.

Portland Museum of Art has an exhibit of Georgia O’Keeffe, called Georgia O’Keeffe and the Camera: The Art of Identity. Maine Wildlife Park has more than 25 species of Maine wildlife from owls to bears. Children’s Museum of Maine is focusing on Attack of the Bloodsuckers! And 19th Century Willowbrook Village, which is on the National Register of Historic Places, offers the unique experience of stepping back in time.
