The Westbrook American reported on Aug. 7, 1963, that the U.S. Post Office Department announced plans to build a post office at 54 Main St., replacing the one at the corner of State and School streets.

Fred Pike of West Buxton bought the Arthur Gannett Jr. home on Back Nippen Road. Pike, who was making repairs, planned to move his family in before winter.
