Westbrook Housing is introducing free job postings for area employers. The new service is designed to help both employers and Westbrook Housing clients.
“We see people every day with an extraordinary number of job skills but, due to circumstances beyond their control, find themselves unemployed,” said Susan Eldridge, deputy director of Westbrook Housing. “We also see families in which two adults are working but still have trouble making ends meet.”
Eldridge said the listing is a way to bring employers and potential employees together for their mutual benefit. “If we can direct job seekers to those who are trying to fill position, everyone wins,” she said.
Listings are exclusively for informational purposes. Westbrook Housing accepts no responsibility for either party. Once openings are posted, responsibility is on the job seeker to make contact with the listing employer.
Eldridge said she is distributing information about the job listing service to businesses throughout the Westbrook, Gorham and surrounding areas. Forms can also be obtained from Mary Bouvier, family self-sufficiency coordinator, at mbouvier@westbrookhousing.org or 854-6822.
