Gorham hosted and swept a three-team cross country meet on Friday afternoon at Narragansett School.

The Gorham girls placed five runners in the top eight, finishing with 27 points to defeat second-place Sanford (47) and Deering (56). Sanford’s Vicky Hewey won the 3.1-mile race in 19:53. Gorham’s Rachel Wilkinson was second in 20:01.

In the boys’ race, Gorham took the top two spots and placed five runners in the top-10, scoring 23 points. Deering was second with 46 and Sanford third with 62. Jeremy Earl of Gorham won the race in 17:30, while teammate Alex Graves was second in 17:42.

Rounding out the top-10 in the boys’ race were Deering’s Seth Neuts (third, 17:50), Gorham’s Logan Marshall (18:07), Sanford’s Jacob Gaudreau (18:18), Gorham’s Jon Foster (18:20), Deering’s Arjan Nekoie (18:31), Sanford’s Zach Clarke (18:40), Deering’s Joe Luka (19:09) and Gorham’s Andrew Turner (19:14).

The rest of the top-10 in the girls’ race included Deering’s Ella Ramonas (third, 21:24), Gorham’s Sarah McCullough (21:48), Sanford’s Jill Porter (22:00), Gorham’s Jennifer Thuotte (22:57), Gorham’s Katie Smith (23:01), Gorham’s Kelsey Rex (23:04), Gorham’s Solange Carpenter (23:18) and Deering’s Claire Ostwald (23:48).

Also placing for the Sanford girls were Joan Hair (12th, 24:14), Kristen Guillemette (13th, 24:15) and Michelle Rivard (16th, 25:04). Also placing for the Sanford boys were Phil Lenhardt (14th, 19:39), Aaron Labbe (18th, 20:14) and Tom Wilson (19th, 20:53).
