I’m writing to strongly endorse State Representative Ralph Sarty for re-election in House District 99. Residents of Baldwin, Cornish, Denmark and Limington know that Rep. Sarty is an outstanding public servant. He demonstrated his commitment to his community by organizing a charity concert that raised over $25,000 to help local residents buy heating oil this winter.
During his brief time in the Maine Legislature, Ralph has built a reputation as a thoughtful, hard-working legislator who stands up for fiscal discipline, economic growth and common sense. Against fierce opposition from the majority party, for example, he voted to require that Maine driver’s licenses be issued only to Maine residents who are in our country legally. Previously, Maine issued this critical credential to illegal aliens and other people who don’t even live in the state.
With Maine’s economy struggling, Ralph has been named a Guardian of Small Business by the National Federation of Independent Business. He voted 100 percent to support those Maine employers and entrepreneurs who create the vast majority of our jobs. He received a “very strong” rating from the Maine Economic Research Institute, based on his votes for bills that strengthen our economy. He also has been a strong advocate for lower taxes.
Rep. Ralph Sarty deserves another term in the Legislature to continue as a voice of reason for all Mainers who value efficiency and financial responsibility in state government.
Rep. Josh Tardy, R-Newport
House Republican Leader
