Storywalk: Combining physical activity with literacy may seem like an odd mix, but it is an innovative way to get all ages walking while reading children’s pictures books. Pages of a book are transformed into signs that are then laid out on a trail inviting families, children, and caregivers, teachers and others to follow the path of pages. Using “Scoot!” by Maine author/illustrator, Cathryn Falwell, the StoryWalk illustrations demonstrates how to move like the animal featured in the pages of “Scoot!”
This innovative, clever exhibit will be installed at Walker Memorial Library on Nov. 15 and will stay until Nov. 22. Everyone is welcome to view and participate.
