Gorham police arrested a 54-year-old resident of Friendly Village trailer park at 4 a.m. Monday after a standoff.

Lt. Chris Sanborn of Gorham police said Paul Curran of Evergreen Drive was charged with disorderly conduct, terrorizing, aggravated criminal mischief, obstructing government administration and creating a police standoff. Police said Curran interfered with police while handling another call on Evergreen Drive. Sanborn said Curran smashed a window of a police cruiser.

Gorham police were assisted by the Cumberland County tactical team. Sanborn and Gorham Officer Ted Hatch arrested Curran after the tactical team secured the residence. Curran was taken to Cumberland County Jail in Portland, Sanborn said.

Three Gorham officers initially had been dispatched to Evergreen Drive about 10:45 p.m. Sunday to take another man, who police said wanted to harm himself, into protective custody.
