Beacon Hospice is looking to train volunteers to help care for terminally ill patients.
A free, 24-hour training program began Jan. 14 in the South Portland office. This training will continue on six more Wednesday evenings through Feb. 25 from 5:30 p.m to 8:30 p.m. After graduation, chances are good that volunteers will be able to visit terminally ill patients and their families near them, since Beacon Hospice serves patients from Biddeford to Bath to Parsonsfield.
Contact volunteer coordinator Donna Teague at 772-0929 for more information and an application packet.
