Dance teachers join staff

Drouin Dance Center, 90 Bridge St. (located in the Dana Warp Mill), has announced that Rhonda Davis-Cook has joined the dance faculty and Meghan Tracy has returned to the dance faculty.

Rhonda Davis-Cook has been instructing dance in southern Maine for 20 years, and is certified to teach by Dance Masters of America. She will teach tap dance for all ages, including a new weekly adult intermediate-level tap class on Wednesdays 9:30-10:30 a.m.

Meghan Tracy teaches six-week classes for ages 2 through 8 in creative movement, ballet and jazz.

Friends of Walker Memorial Library, 800 Main St., are hosting “We Love Our Library Tea” 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 14.

Besides serving refreshments, the friends will share information about their work at the library. Everyone is welcome and the library is handicapped-accessible.

‘Islander’ film at Warren

Warren Memorial Library, 479 Main St., will show “The Islander” at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 12, in the library’s auditorium.

Admission is free.

The award-winning film, which was released in theaters throughout the country in 2006, was filmed in Maine. It’s the story of a lobsterman who returns to his community after a tragic accident sends him to prison.

Gospel breakfast

The local chapter of Full Gospel Businessmen Fellowship International will meet for breakfast at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 14, at the American Legion Hall, 17 Dunn St.

Eric Ellis, an engineer who has worked for the state Fire Marshal’s Office for 15 years, will speak. Ellis is a former teacher and has designed homes. He authored a timeline book on the Bible.

Cost is $8; seniors, $6.
