SUBHEAD-Cumberland/North Yarmouth Little League registration extended
The Cumberland/North Yarmouth Little League on-line registration has been extended until Feb. 28. Manager applications are also being accepted.

SUBHEAD-Falmouth Little League registration
Falmouth Little League player and coach registration is now open for the 2009 season. T-ball, baseball and softball can register at www.falmouthlittleleague.net. Coaches must also register. The cost is $60 for players ages 5 to 12 and $85 for players ages 13 to 16. There will be a $20 late fee for registrations received after Feb. 28.

SUBHEAD-MCU Comedy night fundraiser upcoming
Maine Coast United and TOPSpurs TOPSoccer Programs, a community-based training and team placement program for young athletes with disabilities, are hosting a Comedy Night fundraiser on March 6 at The Gold Room (next to Portland Sports Complex). Doors open at 7:45 p.m. and the show begins 8:30 p.m. There will also be a silent auction and a 50/50 raffle.

The second annual Snowman Adventure run, bike and sled race will be held Saturday in Portland along the Eastern Promenade and Back Cove. Proceeds will benefit Portland Trails.

SUBHEAD-USM baseball team hosting clinics
Coach Ed Flaherty and the University of Southern Maine Huskies baseball team will host a pitching, hitting and defense clinic Sundays Feb. 22 and March 1 at the Costello Fieldhouse on the USM Gorham campus. The pitching and defense clinics go from 9 a.m. to 12 p.. Hitting clinics are from 1 to 4 p.m. The cost of each session is $30. The full day is $50. Players ages 8 to 18 are welcome.

SUBHEAD-Lacrosse officials wanted
The Maine Lacrosse Officials Association is holding its annual men’s high school referee training program Feb. 22 and March 1 (with March 8 as a snow day) at North Yarmouth Academy. Officials are needed for boys’ lacrosse for the upcoming season.

SUBHEAD-Six-month running program beginning
Waynflete School cross country coach Ziggy Gillespie is offering a six-month running program for any level of ability. Information and registration will be held Tuesday at 6 p.m. at Peak Performance Multisport on Marginal Way in Portland. The program starts March 4 and meets every Wednesday night at 6 for a group run and workout.
