The Zoning Board has yet to vote on whether to overturn a decision by the city’s code enforcement officer regarding Pike Industries’ right to operate and expand its Spring Street quarry.

A meeting Tuesday was supposed to be the final of three held regarding Code Enforcement Officer Rick Gouzie’s ruling that Pike could continue to quarry but could not add rock-crushing, asphalt and concrete plants to its Spring Street site. Gouzie’s decision was appealed by both Pike and Westbrook Works, a group of local businesses and residents opposed to Pike’s proposed expansion.

According to City Administrator Jerre Bryant, the fourth meeting could happen as soon as April 13, but might not be until May, because of scheduling conflicts.
