You know spring is officially here when Point Sebago Resort announces that golfers can start whacking that little white ball. The Point Sebago Driving Range is now open for the seasonm and the golf course is scheduled to open Friday, April 24. Also, Point Sebago is thrilled to announce new lower green fees for 2009 and great low rates for Maine residents.

Point Sebago Championship Golf Course will open for the season with special greens fees from $29 to $49 per round including 18-holes with a cart until May 21.

“It is great to get the driving range open so early,” said Mike Cloutier, Point Sebago’s Director of Golf.

“We think golfers will appreciate the new lower rates,” said Cloutier. “Our grounds crew has been doing a fantastic job and the course should be in great shape by the end of April.” This scenic par-72 championship course covers 7,002 yards, has a slope rating of 135 and has hosted the Maine Open. It is widely considered one of the best golf courses in Maine.

The Point Sebago Practice Facility, consisting of a 300-yard driving range, two putting greens, a chipping green, one green for bunker and pitching practice and a fairway bunker, is already open. Point Sebago guests of all abilities are encouraged to take advantage of the fabulous Golf Learning Programs offered.

Golfers can play for only $29 per round including cart with the Point Sebago Club Card. Club Cards can be purchased for only $99 until June 15. Club Card members save up to $20 per round and never pay more than $39 all season.

Point Sebago’s Maine resident rates are lower than last year. Maine Residents will pay only $29 – 39 prior to May 21, and $39 – 49 all summer. These low rates includes 18-holes and a cart. To qualify for these low rates, simply present a valid Maine Drivers License at the course.
