NORTH YARMOUTH — Norma G. Soucie, 72, died April 27 after a long battle with cancer.
She was born in Old Town, on Jan. 25, 1937, a daughter of Reginald and Julia (Gardner) Bell.
The family moved to North Yarmouth when she was seven and attended North Yarmouth schools, graduating from Greely Institute in 1955.
On Nov. 11, 1960, she married Wallace Soucie and together raised three children in North Yarmouth.
While working for Cape Shore, she attended college to earn her accounting degree. She left school to take care of her parents, and subsequently started her own business, Bookkeeping Plus, which she successfully operated for nearly 20 years.
Her interests included knitting, fishing, traveling and gardening. She was known as a warm and caring person and had many dear friends throughout her life.
She was predeceased by her husband Wallace in June, 2007.
She is survived by her daughters, Terri Soucie and partner Karen of Scarborough, Mrs. Patti Robinson of North Yarmouth, and son Dan Soucie and his wife Julie of North Yarmouth; nine grandchildren, Josh, Erica, Abby, Tanay, Teyannah, Nattie, Annie, Alex and Wyatt; cousins; and nieces and nephews.
Memorial services were held last week.
Arrangements are by Lindquist Funeral Home, 1 Mayberry Lane, Yarmouth.
