Rumpf earns B.C. diploma

Amanda Rumpf of Buxton recently graduated magna cum laude from Boston College in Chestnut Hill, Mass.

Rumpf earned a bachelor of science degree in accounting from the university’s Wallace E. Carroll School of Management.

Community Day coming up

Buxton Community Day will be held Friday and Saturday, July 24 and 25, at Weymouth Park, intersection of routes 202 and 112.

Features new this year for kids will be the frog-jumping contest and a pig scramble with rounds for age brackets 6-9 and 10-12. The first to catch and bag the pig wins the pig or could take $25 cash.

Returning traditional favorite events will include the 5K road race, pancake breakfast, parade, crafters, food and game booths, live entertainment and fireworks.

“Our festival will open at noon on Friday, July 25, with live music, amusement rides and vendors, and will end Friday with a double feature movie on our 22-foot-by-16-foot inflatable movie screen,” said May Schumacher, chairwoman of the festival.

She said Saturday would kick off at 8 a.m. with the professionally timed road race, followed by a pancake breakfast that leads into the grand parade.

Cronin on dean’s list

Amber Renee Cronin has been named to the dean’s list for the spring semester at Colby-Sawyer College in New London, N.H.

A member of the class of 2011, Cronin is majoring in child development. Cronin is a 2007 graduate of Bonny Eagle High School.

Register for high school

Registration for Bonny Eagle High School enrollment for the next school year is by appointment only by contacting the registrar.

Times and dates are 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Mondays through Fridays through the summer.

Documentation required at the time of enrollment includes:

• a photo ID;

• proof of residency – two legal documents that have the parent or guardian’s name and physical address. The school will accept a copy of a purchase/sale/lease/rental agreement, utility bill, or recent motor vehicle registration. If a Maine driver’s license has a physical address, it may be used as one of the documents for proof of residency;

• proof of legal guardianship – a copy of birth certificate and most recent court document, if applicable.

• grades – transcript and last report card); if special services, take a copy of the last I.E.P, or 504 plan, if applicable;

• immunization record – if student has not had the chickenpox vaccine, you must provide verification of disease from a doctor;

• if transferring from home school, all course information and grades
