BRUNSWICK — David D. Dubé, 80, died June 30.

On Jan. 13, 1929, he was born in Brunswick, the son of Philippe and Alice Lavigueur Dubé.

He attended local schools and graduated from Tufts University.

He married Carol Barnes in 1951.

After serving in the U.S. Army, he worked at WT Grant Company until 1975. He opened the Curtainshop in Waterville, which later became part of The Curtainshops of Maine.

He volunteered at Camp Sunshine and enjoyed working in St. Joe’s Workshop during the St. Charles Christmas fair.

His hobbies included skiing, playing racquetball and sailing.

He was predeceased by son Stephen Dubé and daughter-in-law Helen Dubé.

Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Carol of Brunswick; his son, Michael Dubé of Brunswick, daughter Jeanne Dubé and Richard Hendsbee of Sidney and daughter Kathryn and her husband Richard Baribeau Jr., of Brunswick; grandsons Christopher Baribeau of Peterborough, N.H. and Matthew Baribeau of Orlando, Fla.; his brother Phillip Dubé of Newark, Del.; and nephew William Dubé of Newark, Del.

Memorial services were held earlier this week.

Arrangements are by Stetson’s Funeral Home 12 Federal St., Brunswick.
