Vallee exhibit readied
Norm Conley, president of Westbrook Historical Society, and Suzan Norton are among society members busily transforming its hall at 17 Dunn St. into a special Vallee exhibit.
The exhibit will be open to the public on Saturday, July 25, 9 a.m.-11 a.m. and at 4 p.m., when the society will host an open reception for Eleanor Vallee, widow of Rudy Vallee, and special guests.
Rudy Vallee Square will be rededicated at 1 p.m. at the corner of Main and Bridge streets. Eleanor Vallee and William Vallee, who is the son of William Vallee and nephew of Rudy, will be present.
Everyone is invited to the ceremonies and to the reception.
Class of ’50 mini-reunion
The Westbrook High School Class of 1950 will have a luncheon at Keeley the Katerers on Warren Avenue in Portland from noon to 4 p.m. on Friday, July 24.

Knott earns diploma
Gwendolen Marie Knott of Westbrook graduated from Framingham State College in Framingham, Mass., in May.
Knott received a bachelor of science degree.
Mullen honored
Amy Mullen was named to the president’s list as a senior at Bentley University in Waltham, Mass.
Mullen majored in mathematics.
Dance center offers camps
Drouin Dance Center of Westbrook announces that it is now taking registrations for Pirate Camp, July 20-24, and Princess Camp, Aug. 3-7.
Princess Camp for children ages 3-7 combines dance with a focus on favorite princesses. Creative movement, ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, arts and crafts, improvisation, dance games and choreography will be taught in the camp.
Pirate Camp, for children ages 3-9, combines movement, music and dance with a focus on favorite pirates, pirate stories and treasure hunts.
Creative movement and hip hop will be taught in the camp as well as music and movement activities, crafts, improvisation, role play and choreography.
