Democrat Libby Mitchell today announced a six point plan to create and retain jobs in Maine.

Mitchell, one of five gubernatorial candidates, proposed to expand and modernize the Seed Capital Tax Credit, invest in green energy and approval of bond proposals to support transportation, infrastructure, and research and development. Also, she wants to help businesses with a management program, create a “rapid response” team to help businesses before they close, and require that at least 25 percent of food served in schools, prisons and state facilities be locally grown.

Mitchell unveiled her plan at the party headquarters in Bangor.

“The world has changed,” she said. “The jobs are changing and Maine needs to keep up.”
