Today’s storm has prompted Westbrook to declare a snow emergency parking ban on all city streets starting tonight.

Police say the parking ban goes into effect at 7 p.m. and continues through 7 a.m. Thursday.

The forecast calls for heavy snow ending sometime this evening. Police say public services will have crews working through the day and overnight to clean up city streets.

Cars parked on city streets during the ban will be ticketed and towed in most cases. Police ask residents to help ensure the safety of roads for plow crews and drivers alike and to make arrangements to park vehicles off the street.

The city maintains relief parking lots. Overnight parking is available at the Mechanic Steet lot behind CVS, the Church Street lot at Warren Congregational Church, the Dunn Street American Legion lot, the Ash Street lot, the Warren ball field lot on Stevens Avenue, the Bicentennial Park/Ramp lot, the Warren outdoor pool lot, the Lincoln Street skating rink lot and the Walker Memorial Library lot. Please check signs for restrictions.
