ANIMAL WELFARE SOCIETY

The four-day Summer Camp Program will return this year to the Shelter on Holland Road in West Kennebunk. This hands-on program allows the opportunity to feed, groom, socialize and exercise resident animals. The children learn skills relating to animal care, responsibility and compassion. The Camps for children ages 7-10 begin July 11 and 18. Camps beginning the following four Mondays July 25 through Aug. 15 cater to children ages 10-14.

Gizmo is available for adoption. He is a loving, 4-year-old Shih Tzu who knows the commands sit and fetch. Children are not Gizmo’s cup of tea, so we will not be asking him to share his new home with any. He has hip dysplasia and will have to get surgery done before he is adopted. If you are interested call the shelter at 985-3244 for more information on his surgery.

HART

Sultan is an all-black, long-haired adult male. He is a very handsome boy that was surrendered due to allergies. His former owners describe him as very active, friendly, affectionate, independent, and playful. He loves to play hide and seek, will fetch toys, and likes to chase bugs and moths.

Molly is an adult female tiger. She is beautiful, with a white bib and a little bobtail. Molly was brought to HART when her owner developed some allergies. Because she lived in a nice home with lots of love, she is quite stressed at the shelter.
