License your dog now
Per state law, all dogs at the age of six months or older are required to be licensed. The fee for a spayed or neutered dog is $6, but the fee is $11 for an unsterilized dog. All dog licenses expire Dec. 31; however, a late fee of an additional $15 (plus the registration fee) per dog will not be invoked until after Jan. 31.
To license a dog, the owner must provide a current rabies certificate, and a spay or neuter certificate if applying for the lower cost-altered license fee. Residents of New Gloucester may register their dogs at the town office or through the state’s online program. New registrations can be done online anytime; renewals can only be done online between Oct. 15 and Jan. 31.
