GORHAM — University of Southern Maine senior Matt Harmon won the two throwing events to pace the Huskies’ efforts at the USM Invitational II held Saturday at the USM Field House.
The meet was a non-team scoring event involving competitors from Rhode Island College, Colby College, Wheaton College and USM.
For the second straight meet this season, Harmon took the top spot in the 35- pound weight throw and the shot put.
Junior Parker Chipman of Pownal was second in the 200 meters with his time of 24.15. Picking up a third-place finish was senior Cole Whitney of Topsham in the pole vault (10-2).
The Huskies will travel to Brunswick next weekend for the Bowdoin College Invitational.
