HAMPDEN — The Mt. Ararat High School jayvee boys basketball team was outscored 43-15 over the middle two quarters in a 65- 28 loss to Hampden Academy on Tuesday.
The Eagles trailed just 10-7 through a quarter, but the Broncos used an 18-7 advantage in the second frame for a 28-14 lead at the half. Hampden led 53-22 after three quarters.
Mason Griffin led Mt. Ararat with eight points. The Eagles were nine of 25 from the foul line, and Griffin had a team-high eight rebounds and Devin Monteiro pulled down seven caroms.
Deshawn Jones and Reed Rozzy had 11 and 10 points, respectively, for Hampden.
The Eagles host Brewer on Friday at 5:30 p.m.
