GORHAM — The Hyde- School- Bath indoor track team traveled to the University of Southern Maine on Friday to compete in a meet with Western Maine Conference schools.

Both the boys and girls squads for the Phoenix finished seventh, with virtually all Hyde athletes achieving personal-best records.

The girls scored a seasonhigh 30 points, led by a win by Dexie Cercos in the 55-meter hurdles in 9.91. Cercos also finished second in the 200 (29.19) and fifth in the triple jump ( 30- 01). Her day was topped off by being named the Senior Division “MVP of the Meet.”

Also for the Hyde girls, Xi Wang was seventh in the one mile, improving her time by 30 seconds to 6:18.21. She also earned sixth in the two mile (13:57.9). Maddy Preece was second in the 400 (1:08.18) and sixth in the 200 (31.09).

On the boys side, Ben Webber finished second in the 55 ( 6.97) and fifth in the 200 (24.74). Isaac Pfosi was fifth in the high jump ( 5- 02), Alex Philippoussis third in the junior shot put (30-03) and the boys4x800relaywassecond in 9:27.34.

Other achievements included Pfosi’s solid runs in the 400 ( 1: 01.47) and two mile (11:45.22), and Adam Peterson’s victories in his heats in the 55 (7.44) and 200 (27.43). Cody Mitchell was fifth in the two mile (11:07.9).

Falmouth won the girls meet with 202 points, followed by Gray-New Gloucester (89 points) and York (84).

York took home the boys win with 274 points, with Falmouth ( 122.5) second and Yarmouth (78) third.
