JEFFERSON — Phippsburg youth skiers took three of the top six places in Sunday’s Winter Biathlon at Hidden Valley Nature Center.
The Winter Biathlon is a regional event drawing participants from as far away as Portland.
In the girls division, Phippsburg’s Sierra Wallace was first, with Kali Pierce finishing third. Braden Olsen was the top finisher in the boys.
Phippsburg youth Nordic skiing is sponsored by the Phippsburg Sportsmen’s Association, the Phippsburg Recreation Committee and by MYSO-Maine Youth Sports Opportunities, a non-profit. The program is coached by Lynn Kay, Ralph Keyes and Chuck Mainville, with youth coaching coming from Devin Dauphin, Matthew Chandler and Levi Little.
