GORHAM — Forward Mason Choice and center Mike Akinrola combined for 45 points to lead the Rhode Island College Anchormen to a 77-65 win over the University of Southern Maine Huskies in a Little East Conference men’s basketball game Saturday afternoon at Hill Gymnasium.
RIC improved to 18-5 overall and 8-4 in the Little East. Southern Maine fell to 10-12 and 3-9 in the conference.
Choice was 10-for-16 from the field, while Akinrola was 10- for- 19. Both Choice and Akinrola grabbed eight rebounds.
USM guard Brandon Tomah led four USM players in double figures with 19 points on a seven-for-14 effort from the field. Junior guard Alex Kee of Bath scored 12 points and added four assists and three steals.
Southern Maine hosts Plymouth State tonight ( 7: 30 p.m.).
