GORHAM — The Maine Renegades and New Hampshire Seacoast Spartans announced recently the two organizations will work together for the 2012/13 season to bring Maine youth ice hockey players unique development opportunities.

The two hockey groups will develop a network for building and growing both organizations, while each continues to operate as its own entity.

The combined efforts of the Spartans and Renegades will include the Renegades offering a practice facility out of their home rink at the University of Southern Maine Ice Arena on the Gorham campus for Spartans Elite & Selects players living in Maine.

In addition, there will be opportunities for Renegades players to be involved with skill development, practice sessions and some games with the Spartans in Exeter, N.H.

New England skating and skills professional Adam Nicholas will continue to work with both Maine and New Hampshire players to provide elite ice hockey training, while Chris Grassie, president of the Spartans, and other instructors will assist with practices on several Fridays in Maine.
