Kevin fought a long war with leukemia, but was a valiant fighter. Every time treatment knocked him down, he got right back up and started again.
Kevin was an avid snowmobiler and winter sports enthusiast. He loved the outdoors and was very physically active. You could find him enjoying the beaches of Maine, hiking, biking or just working out. He spent the last two years employed by Harry C. Crookers and loved what was "the best job of my life."
While Kevin’s family was small, he had many close and wonderful friends, including his long time girlfriend, Sherry
Krause of Topsham, her son Matthew Wooten, Jr. of Lewiston and her sister, Wilfrieda Schultz, of Groton, CT. He is predeceased by his mother, Cynthia Holbrook. Kevin’s battle with cancer touched so many people on so many levels, and the family would like to give a special Thank You to Dr. Christopher Lowrey and all of the doctors and nurses at Dartmouth. If not for you, Kevin wouldn’t have had the last five years to live and enjoy his life.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Dean Snell Cancer Foundation, PO Box 104, Brunswick ME 04011 or in person to any Five County Credit Union.
Service will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Freeport, 185 Main Street Freeport, ME 04032.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
