BRUNSWICK — Margaret " Peggy" Cox-Estes 64 of Brunswick passed away on Saturday, March 17 at 2: 00 p.m. after a 10 year battle with cancer. She passed away at home surrounded by her family.

She was born on Dec. 6, 1946 in Minneapolis MN to Hugo and Delores Smith. She has three brothers Bruce, Bill & Paul Smith and a sister Sherry Carter all live in Indiana.

She is survived by her husband Edward Estes of 29 years, her sons Tony Cox & his wife Jan and their two boys Keith and Kevin of Brunswick, and Shawn Cox & his wife Marcy and their children Hannah, Noah & Evan of Brunswick.

She was a 1963 graduate of Howe High School in Indiana. She moved to Maine in 1971 and settled in Brunswick. She worked for Sears in Brunswick from 1973-2004. There she met her second husband Edward Estes. After a fifteen year courtship they decided to tie the knot on August 3, 1997.

Ed and Peggy spent the next 29 years being at each others side. They traveled most of the 50 states by motor home or motorcycle and saw the beauty of our country up close.

She was a devoted mother and wife.

Many times sacrificing her own needs for others. She always had a smile and enjoyed helping others. She was a good mom, a good wife and an all around good person.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, March 21 from 5:00 – 7:00 p. m. at Demers- Desmond Funeral Home, 34 Cushing Street, Brunswick, ME.
