MANSFIELD, Conn. — Sophomore Jacki Kelly of Brunswick scored a singlegame record nine goals for the University of Southern Maine on Saturday, but it was not enough as the visiting Huskies fell to the Eastern Connecticut State University Warriors, 20-15, in a Little East Conference women’s lacrosse game on Saturday.
The Huskies fell to 6-9 overall and 2-2 in LEC games.
Kelly netted five goals in the opening half, and four more in the second half to eclipse the previous singlegame mark of eight goals set by Jen Young in April 2002, and equaled twice by Jessica Knight.
Kelly also had an assist to finish with 10 points, another single-game record.
Southern Maine will return home to host Plymouth State University on Wednesday (4 p.m.).
