SCARBOROUGH (AP) — Police say a dead whale has washed ashore on one of southern Maine’s most popular swimming beaches.

The Maine Sunday Telegram reports that the whale was found Sunday on Pine Point Beach in Scarborough. A dead Minke whale washed up on rocks near Two Lights State Park in Cape Elizabeth last month.

It is not known what type of whale came ashore at Pine Point Beach.
