BANGOR (AP) — Police in Bangor say they have found the vehicle involved in a hitand run accident that killed a pedestrian.

Police say a man was killed shortly after 10:30 p.m. Saturday when he was struck by a car near at the intersection of Patten and Main streets. The victim’s identity has not been released.

Police say witnesses reported that a sedan hit the man while driving on Main Street and sped off without stopping.

On Sunday, police said they had located the vehicle and have been examining it. They say the driver has been identified and has been cooperative.

Investigators say charges are possible but that no more information would be released before today.
