LISBON FALLS — Kyle Bourget spotted 11thseeded Sacopee Valley a first inning run, but took over from there as the Lisbon High School baseball team rolled to a 9-2 Western Maine Class C preliminary victory on Tuesday.

The sixth-seeded Greyhounds (10-8) head to No. 3 Telstar on Thursday, while the Hawks finish 3-14.

Bourget allowed four hits and one walk with five strikeouts.

Lisbon tied the game in the first, and the Greyhounds scored two runs in four straight innings to take control. Lisbon took advantage of 14 walks by four Sacopee Valley pitchers.

Kyle Priddle put Lisbon ahead in the second inning with an RBI single, and Aaron Boyington and Brandon Hovey each delivered RBI doubles.

Nick York doubled and CJ Dunnells singled in a run for the Hawks.

Softball

Chelsea Covey’s RBI double in the eighth inning allowed the host Hampden Academy Broncos to come away with an Eastern Maine Class A, 2-1 prelim win over ninth-seeded Mt. Ararat at Hampden.

Ashley Danforth, who allowed six hits, struck out nine and walked six for the mound win, led off the Broncos’ (9-8) eighth with a double and scored the winning run. Hampden meets topseeded Cony (16-0) on Thursday in the quarterfinals.

Mt. Ararat pitcher Kim Leslie took the loss despite striking out 10.

Dana Green singled twice, while Taylor Pare, Mallory Nelson, Micaela Mitchell (RBI) and Jodie Curley each singled.

Eagle seniors are Shauna Williams (four-year starter), Green and Curley.
