BATH — BMDA defeated Smith-Tobey Post 8-1 in Cal Ripken Baseball postseason action on Saturday.
Max Reed pitched a standout game with no runs allowed until the sixth inning when Chase Smith of Smith- Tobey belted a home run.
Reed helped his own cause with a two-run homer, scoring him and Lucas Groat, who went 3-for-3 with a double. Other hits for BMDA included Connor Hagerthy (two singles) and Davis Newall with a double and a single.
Top defensive plays included a line drive catch by Connor Hagerthy at second base, a pop fly caught by Miles Bobbi in right field, and Groat behind the plate in the sixth inning to end the game.
