WESTBROOK – Westbrook High School has turned to a Westbrook native to fill its open athletic/activities director spot.
On Friday, School Superintendent Marc Gousse said that the School Committee confirmed the appointment of Marc Sawyer at its meeting on July 12. Sawyer takes over for Todd Sampson, who resigned earlier this summer to take the AD job at Mt. Ararat High School in Topsham.
Gousse said Sawyer is a Westbrook native and a graduate of Westbrook High School. For the last decade, Gousse said Sawyer has been working at Bonny Eagle High School as a phys ed/health teacher and a baseball coach.
Gousse said he was pleased with the hire. “We’re excited, he’s going to do a great job,” he said.
