WESTBROOK – Benjamin L. Grubb , 21, of Westbrook, is due in court Wednesday to face heroin charges after his arrest Monday by the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency, according to a release from the Maine Department of Public Safety.
Agents had been looking for Grubb since they raided his motel room in Westbrook June 29. Inside they found nearly three ounces of heroin, with a street value of $10,000. MDEA agents and Westbrook police went to the motel to follow up complaints of suspected drug trafficking from one of the rooms. Agents found the 80 grams of heroin, inside a portable safe in the room.
Grubb was one of several people who had access to the room and additional arrests are likely, according to the press release. Grubb was charged with aggravated trafficking in heroin, a class A felony with a possible sentence of 25 years in prison. He is being held at the Cumberland County Jail on $1,000 bail.
Grubb is expected to make an initial appearance at Portland Criminal Court Wednesday at 1 pm.
