FALMOUTH — Christopher Swift followed up a firstround 68 with a 2-under-par 69 on Wednesday for a oneshot lead after the second round of the New England Amateur Golf Championship at Falmouth Country Club.
Swift leads Vermont’s Casey Komline by one stroke, while Colin Brennan of Massachusetts is three strokes back.
The third and final round is currently under way.
John Hayes IV of Scarborough is the top Maine golfer through 36 holes. He shot a second-round 68 to move to 2- over par, seven shots out of the lead. Madison’s Seth Sweet, the Maine Amateur champion, is at 3-over.
Four local golfers missed the cut, which was 148. South Freeport’s Jack Wyman was one shot outside the cutline, while Brunswick’s Josh Jones (153), JJ Harris of Bath (155) and Topsham’s Mike Doran (160) failed to make today’s final 18.
